Mission Statement

To empower volunteers to serve their communities, meet humanitarian needs, encourage peace and promote international understanding through Lions Clubs. The Lions motto is “We Serve.”

Who we are

We are Lions.  Union workers, business owners, retirees, realtors, managers, nurses, secretaries,  peons and VIPs.  The Lions motto is "We Serve" and we do.  We welcome anyone that wants to help people that have trouble helping themselves.

Who we help

2 scholarships for H.S. seniors

Eyeglasses for ANY kid whose parents can't provide them

Christmas adoption of at least two families- food, kids presents

Helping Hand ( community help for painting, clean up, etc.)  Little of this is done.

We send every kid that we can find to the Lions Camp in Kerrville-  we've sent at least one child every year since our inception, last year 8 children went to camp free. To date approximately 25 kids have enjoyed a free, week long camp.  To qualify children must have a physical disability or insulin dependant diabetes or cancer.  Camp is 500 acres of fun. Horseback riding, swimming, crafts, fishing, games and much more.  The whole idea is to change their lives by promoting a can do spirit.  Disease or disability may restrict you but nothing can stop you!  No one is left out.  Everyone comes home realizing that they can do more than they thought.

We also support all the various entities of Lions International.  We can provide a guide dog, training for blind folks, disaster relief, and a huge list of other benefits.  Mostly, we are a small club trying to help our own community.

Nobody gets paid.  Everybody works.  Usually, we spend some of our own money.  What a job description!  In return, you get to help someone that truly needs help.  You'd also get to buy and wear a REALLY COOL bright yellow vest!  Oh, and we have FUN doing it.
